Job Summary

The School of Nursing at PLNU is hiring a part‑time adjunct instructor for graduate programs beginning August
2026. The position will involve teaching a variety of graduate courses and supporting students in their academic and professional development.

Salary:
Adjunct pay range $5,013 – $6,684 for a 3‑unit full‑semester appointment. Units will determine the actual salary.

• Provide instruction in graduate‑level courses, including general education and service courses.
• Employ instructional strategies appropriate for graduate students, including managing, motivating and evaluating them.
• Write syllabi and deliver illustrated lectures.
• Work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Engage in personal scholarship and, where possible, scholarship with students.
• Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially.
• Participate in departmental activities and governance.
• Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties.
• Help prepare students for their postgraduate careers and support them in discovering their callings.

• Education:
  
  MSN required;
  Ph.D. in Nursing/DNP preferred.
• Evidence of a commitment to excellence in undergraduate/graduate teaching.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and desire to work at a Christian university.
• Support for the university’s religious and educational goals.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
• Agreement to live in accordance with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.

Completion of a background check is required.
