Overview
:
The district accepts applications for adjunct (part‑time/substitute) positions at three college campuses and various continuing education centers. Faculty members may be assigned as needed, working day, evening, weekend, or off‑campus classes as required.

• Create and deliver instruction according to curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
• Stay current with knowledge in subject matter areas.
• Be available to students outside of class for guidance.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and assignments.
• Create an environment encouraging discussion and learning.

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and at least two years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area.
• Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution and at least six years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
• Any foreign degrees must be evaluated by a certified credential evaluation service.

• Submit official college transcripts.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every four years).
• Undergo fingerprinting via Live Scan computer and obtain clearance prior to first day.
• Present original documents to prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Eligible candidates should live within commuting distance to San Diego and be ready for as‑needed assignments.
