Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor; In-Residence, Adjunct) Otolaryngology Research

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence across its faculty, staff, and student body and seeks to recruit research faculty.

The selected candidate(s) will develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program in otolaryngology. Responsibilities include designing and conducting original research studies, securing federal and foundation funding, collaborating with clinical and surgical faculty on translational research efforts, managing lab personnel and operations, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring and teaching trainees.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Additional information can be found here:

Candidates must have a PhD in biomedical science, bioengineering, neuroscience, or a related field, or an MD or equivalent degree.
