Music Teacher

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Embody High Tech High’s design principles of Equity, Personalization, Authentic Work, and Collaborative Design in all activities
• Create daily lesson plans with engaging, project-based assignments for 6th-8th grade music students
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Incorporate goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans that directly apply to students’ lives
• Achieve school and course-wide performance goals for every student
• Grade assignments and homework regularly to keep students informed of their progress
• Identify students struggling with learning, emotional issues, or home situations and connect them with needed resources

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid California Single Subject Music Teaching Credential, Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with supplementary or introductory authorization in music, or similar Out of State Credential
• Ability to efficiently and effectively manage time for self and others
• Professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, equity, honesty, and personal accountability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional administrative and organizational skills
• Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage diversity

• Salary range: $64,735.44 - $, commensurate with experience and education
