The Training Specialist supports the DDG‑1000 Zumwalt Training Facility by developing, delivering, evaluating, and modernizing high‑fidelity technical training for Fleet Sailors and civilian personnel. This role requires a Navy Instructor NEC (9502 or equivalent), with preference for personnel holding the Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification. The Training Analyst applies deep subject‑matter expertise in Auxiliary Systems, Electrical Systems, Integrated Power Systems (IPS), and Damage Control to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with DDG‑1000 operational requirements.

Ideal candidates come from the MM, EN, or GSM ratings with hands‑on shipboard experience, strong instructional capability, and a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective training.

Develop, update, and maintain DDG‑1000 training materials including:

Lesson plans

Instructor guides

Student guides

Technical training aids Simulation‑based training content

Apply NAVEDTRA 130/131/132 standards to all curriculum development and revisions.

Conduct Training Task Analysis (TTA), Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA), and Learning Objective refinement for DDG‑1000 systems.

Ensure training content aligns with system baselines, modernization updates, and PMS 500/PMS 339 training governance.

Deliver instructor‑led training (ILT), blended learning, and simulation‑based training for DDG‑1000 engineering and ship systems.

Provide hands‑on instruction using DDG‑1000 training systems, mock‑ups, labs, and IPS simulators.

Evaluate student performance, provide remediation, and ensure mastery of critical operational tasks.

Serve as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for Auxiliary, Electrical, IPS, and Damage Control systems.
