Ports and Marine Civil/Structural Project Manager

WSP is searching for a senior Project Manager to lead maritime projects across the U.S. and internationally. The role involves managing engineering teams, budgets, schedules, and client relations for projects in ports, naval facilities, and other maritime infrastructure.
Your Impact- Take responsibility for supervising staff engineers and task leads, performing calculations, and preparing drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare technical studies and reports and guide/review staff engineer work.
- Oversee calculations, cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and reports.
- Perform quality assurance checks and manage projects for marine facilities, including cargo terminals (container, bulk, break‑bulk), federal facilities (home porting piers and shipyards), and public agencies.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams consisting of civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, and architecture specialists.
- Prepare alternatives analysis reports and presentations for repair projects and capital improvement programs.
- Lead review meetings, client presentations, and design charrettes.
- Participate in business development, client relationship management, proposal preparation, and staff estimation.
- Practice responsible and ethical decision‑making in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years of post‑education engineering experience, including marine, port, and coastal design.
- Engineer license required (multi‑state preferred).
- Proficiency with maritime codes (ASCE, COPRI, UFC, UFGC) and other applicable regulations.
- Ability to supervise staff in advanced computer programs.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies.
- Flexible to variable schedules and able to adapt in a high‑pressure environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, which requires a TSA background check.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Experience with design and management of Port Authority, Navy, or Coast Guard projects.
