Roles & Responsibilities- Working with our engineering and product development teams in seeding, harvesting, and developing invention disclosures
- Contributing to strategic projects leveraging our IP portfolio for implementing our business strategy
- Working with our RF prosecution team and inventors in capturing high‑value patents (and trade secrets) in alignment with our business goals
- Defining and leading reverse engineering projects, analyzing teardown reports at both module and circuit/die levels, and developing Claim Charts and business cases for strategic utilization
- Defining and implementing competitive patent portfolio analysis based on specific business needs
This role focuses on building, analyzing, optimizing, and utilizing a patent portfolio that is aimed at providing a competitive advantage in RF semiconductor application domains.
Qualifications Basic Requirements- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or physics, or equivalent industry experience in RF circuits, systems/modules, and devices
- Minimum 3-year of experience in RF devices and RF circuit design, including PA, LNA, switches and filters.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Prior exposure to patents, patent prosecution, and defensive or offensive utilization of patents.
- Additional experience/knowledge in one or more of the following areas: IC process and manufacturing technologies and/or packaging
- Leading reverse engineering tasks and performing analysis of tear‑down reports at the circuit, die, and module levels
- RFFE systems and architecture
- USPTO registration as a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney, though not required
- Demonstrated ability to originate and develop novel patent assertion theses, including articulating technical, business justifications and risk mitigation, experience in claim charting, licensing models, IP strategy, and competitive landscape analysis
- Demonstrated curiosity, passion, and an open mind for problem solving and creating new opportunities at the intersection of technology, business, and intellectual property
- Prior experience in interacting with or working at multi‑national organizations.
The successful candidate is preferably located in San Diego, CA. This position could be a hybrid position with 2–3 days a week in‑person presence at the pSemi San Diego offices.
