Your impact is felt as our Project Services division leads in cost estimating services, delivering proven expertise on capital projects ranging from $25M to $25B across the country.
Projects include piers, dry docks, flood walls, breakwaters and other heavy civil developments.
The role is primarily remote, ideally located near a local office. You will review design documents, proposals, specifications, drawings, attend design development meetings and assess risk and cost impacts required to develop the estimates. Your contributions will include developing project work breakdown structures, calculating complete scope of work take‑offs, assisting contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors, applying construction methods, and calculating indirect field and owner’s costs.
Responsibilities- Develop capital cost estimates for heavy civil/marine type projects
- Review contractor proposals for various procurement types
- Review and validate change orders
- Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs
- Maintain organized and detailed files, project records and logs
- Attend project meetings as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 10-15 years of estimating and construction experience
- Proficient use of MS Office products and estimating software(s)
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field
- Experience with MII (MCACES 2nd generation) estimating software
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software
- Alternative delivery procurement experience
- Understanding of the relationship between cost, risk and schedule
- Certifications such as a CPE, CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM are a plus
