As an Aircraft Mechanic II (Airframes) you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, hydraulics, armament, landing gear, and more. You will also perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs for both structural and functional components, while managing other mechanics to ensure timely task completion.
Primary Responsibilities- Aircraft Maintenance Repair and rebuild aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, hydraulics, and structural components. Perform troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs as required.
- Leadership Manage and supervise mechanics, ensuring timely completion of tasks and compliance with safety standards. You will also approve time cards for team members.
- Technical Expertise Interpret technical manuals and data to determine repair methods. Perform various types of inspections on engines, systems, and components.
- Specialized Areas You may specialize in specific areas, such as engine, airframe, electrical, or armament repair. You will be responsible for modifications, inspections, and keeping aircraft in safe, mission‑ready condition.
- Support Equipment Compliance Ensure that Technical Directives (TDs) are followed for aircraft maintenance and equipment management. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Safety & Quality Ensure that all safety and quality procedures are adhered to, including hazardous materials handling, FOD prevention, and completing required training.
- Certifications CDQAR (Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative)
- Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent, with at least eight (8) years of recent experience in rotary aircraft maintenance, specifically with the H-60 series (including experience as a CDQAR/QAR).
- MH60‑R experience is preferred, along with prior experience in U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance.
- Leadership At least two years of management experience overseeing a team of mechanics.
- Technical Knowledge Ability to interpret complex technical manuals, perform inspections, and use specialized tools/equipment.
- Certifications CDQAR (Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative) equivalent experience and complete aviation ordnance qualifications.
- Background Investigation Ability to obtain a Tier 3 Background Investigation and possibly a Secret Clearance.
- Shift Flexibility Availability to work all shifts as needed based on flight schedules and task requirements.
- Record Keeping Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar to OOMA systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
- Ability to work with foreign cultures and languages.
- Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and medical examination.
- Ability to meet physical requirements for the position.
- Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Must be able to handle and dispose of hazardous materials as required.
- Must be capable of lifting 50lbs and performing physical tasks as required.
- Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English language required.
- Constant use of eyesight while reviewing documents, walking around work areas and constant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- Constant mental alertness around all work areas, must possess planning/organization skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
- Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands.
- Standing for a long period of time with minimal sitting.
- Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
- Work site has head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards; shall use proper PPE and proper safety procedures.
- Must be able to work all shifts. Full‑time employment; however, 40 hours is not guaranteed per‑week.
- Working hours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on flight schedule and/or overall tasking.
