General SummaryAs an Engineering Technician, you will frequently collaborate with Engineers across Qualcomm to optimize the utilization of our equipment and components. You will play a key role in the preliminary stages of our technical processes. Engineering Technicians will also be responsible for upkeeping and implementing operations and safety standards in the workplace to ensure all components of our equipment is properly handled.
Physical Requirements- Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 1+ year of experience with general computer skills and Microsoft applications.
- 1+ year of experience in Semiconductor or related industry.
- Military experience or training in electronics field (Rank E3+).
- Help set up and maintain benches, testers, and other equipment. Transport, install, upgrade, and configure equipment and components, with supervision.
- Perform basic measurements following SOP, contribute to documentation of test results, and maintain malfunction records.
- Help conduct basic troubleshooting and perform basic repair work, rework, removal, and adjustments to equipment as necessary with individuals inside own team and with other teams.
- Help set up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform routine tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
- Execute manual and automated test plans as defined and reproduce and debug routine issues.
- Works under supervision.
- Decision‑making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
- Tasks consist of a limited number of steps which can be referenced using directions or manuals.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience with design, development, R&D, or similar experience in Electronics or related area.
