Overview
The Electronics Technician Maintenance (ETM) III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work requires understanding the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing tasks such as circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
Work may be reviewed by a supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
- Oversee and perform overhauls and repairs on shipboard electronics systems, including High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), and Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond the scope of manuals, including circuit analysis, wave form calculations, and signal flow tracing using advanced test equipment.
- Provide technical guidance to lower level technicians as needed.
- Prior working knowledge on two or more of the following systems is required:
Extremely High Frequency (EHF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Global Broadcast System (GBS), KA Band, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Processor (TIP), Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multi-band Terminal (NMT). - Ability to perform all duties unsupervised.

Security ClearanceThis position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.
Preferred Skills- Desire to be capable of performing all duties unsupervised.
- Ability to provide the status of assigned tasks via both prepared and ad hoc oral briefings to senior Navy personnel.
- Ability to develop written instructions, procedures, schematics, and other technical documentation.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation$46 - $58 an hour. Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
