Position Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing process improvements and technologies within the company. This role plays a key function in ensuring efficient and cost-effective production processes that meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
PositionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyze production processes to identify potential areas for improvement or optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to optimize production efficiency.
- Support Operations and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting process-related issues and developing preventive maintenance plans.
- Assist in evaluating capital investment opportunities related to process improvements and technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for process improvement projects.
- Monitor and report on the financial impact of process improvements and capital project on the operations budget.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues related to process inefficiencies or quality control.
- Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for production processes.
- Lead projects related to process improvements, train and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to evaluate and introduce new technologies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance, Environmental, Health and Safety, NWT, and Kaizen teams to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Manage small plant projects including small capital projects to improve plant technology, processes and equipment upgrades.
Education, Certifications and Experience
An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.

- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Experience
- Minimum Years of
Experience:
2 to 4 years - Experience as a process engineer in a related field OR 5-10 years of hands-on manufacturing experience doing process improvement projects
Required skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and quality control procedures.
- Solid working knowledge in food production processing, packaging equipment, utilities.
- Project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Sound planning and organization skills.
- Knowledge of standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Experience with TPM - EAM, PM & AM is preferred.
The working conditions of this job require the employee to frequently be exposed to wet, humid, and extremely cold conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and the noise level can be moderate. To protect against these conditions, frequent use of personal protective equipment is required.
