Position Overview

The Data Center Engineer (KTLO) is responsible for maintaining the continuous operational readiness of all critical infrastructure systems supporting a mission-critical data center environment. This role ensures uptime, preserves system redundancy, and enforces procedural and safety discipline across electrical, mechanical, and supporting site systems.

This is an operations-focused position centered on stability, execution, and compliance. The engineer executes approved procedures, supports structured change management activities, monitors system health, and maintains audit-ready documentation in a highly controlled, high-availability environment.

The role requires working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, critical cooling infrastructure (including liquid cooling technologies), structured MOP/SOP/EOP governance, and regulated operational environments. Success depends on procedural rigor, sound escalation judgment, and disciplined risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Systems Operations
  • Operate and maintain UPS systems, switch gear, transformers, PDUs, generators, fuel cells, and BESS (as applicable)
  • Support switching activities under approved MOPs
  • Monitor load distribution and system redundancy health
  • Validate restoration of redundancy following maintenance events
  • Support incident response and recovery activities
Mechanical & Cooling Systems
  • Operate and maintain critical cooling systems (air and liquid-based)
  • Support environments utilizing rear-door heat exchangers, CDUs, and direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems
  • Monitor thermal performance, delta‑T, flow rates, and capacity utilization
  • Validate cooling system redundancy and leak detection mechanisms
  • Assess operational impact of cooling system maintenance or failure conditions
  • Validate system performance post‑maintenance or change activity
Change Management & Documentation
  • Draft, review, and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
  • Participate in risk assessments and pre‑task planning
  • Maintain accurate as‑built documentation, labeling, and system diagrams
  • Capture validation evidence including alarms, trend data, and post‑event reporting
Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Enforce LOTO and electrical safety standards
  • Support site access control and vendor oversight
  • Maintain audit readiness aligned with SOC 2 / ISO 27001 controls
  • Participate in emergency response and disaster recovery exercises
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in mission‑critical facilities or data center operations
  • Working knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems
  • Experience with critical cooling infrastructure
  • Experience supporting liquid cooling systems (rear‑door heat exchangers, CDU‑based systems, or direct‑to‑chip environments) preferred
  • Familiarity with structured change management processes (MOP/SOP/EOP)
  • Experience in audited or regulated environments preferred
  • Experience with alternative energy systems (fuel cells, BESS, microgrid environments) a plus
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment
Core Competencies
