Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, and validate the electrical systems for a wearable medical device platform. You will work closely with cross-functional partners across mechanical engineering, firmware, and electrochemistry to bring complex biosensing hardware from prototype to production.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated, hands-on engineer who enjoys early-stage product development and wants meaningful ownership over real-world hardware systems. You will lead day-to-day electrical prototyping and testing, with guidance from a senior electrical engineer, while ensuring systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Serve as the electrical subject matter expert (SME) across R&D initiatives
- Design, prototype, and test PCB layouts, analog and digital circuits, and power management systems for wearable biosensors
- Develop electrical architectures integrating sensors, wireless communication, and embedded systems
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, firmware, and electrochemistry teams
- Support compliance with medical device standards (IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 13485) and risk management processes
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to improve system reliability and manufacturability
- Execute test plans related to EMC/ESD compliance, signal integrity, and power efficiency
- Support transition from R&D to pilot-scale and high-volume manufacturing, including DFM and DFT
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in released products and support sustaining engineering efforts
- Maintain detailed engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, and validation reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical hardware products
- Strong PCB design and layout experience (Altium, OrCAD, Eagle, or similar)
- Solid grounding in analog/digital circuit design, power management, signal processing, and embedded systems
- Hands-on experience with wireless communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, NFC, RF)
- Proficiency with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, electrical test equipment)
- Familiarity with medical device development processes and regulatory standards (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 60601) is a strong plus
- Experience taking products from concept through production
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with flexible electronics or wearable form factors
