You will be part of a team of engineers that work closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. This team has been recognized by the Navy for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. Our team provides structured Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) support to the Navy Advisory Process as well as execution of Ship Change (SCD) modernization initiatives in alignment with the Navy Modernization Process Management and Operations Manual (NMP-MOM).

The mission of the Navy Advisory Management and Navy Modernization Team is to provide a disciplined process to deliver operational and technical directives to the U.S. Naval Fleet in the most effective and efficient manner. The process defines a standard methodology to analyze, plan course of actions, engineering troubleshooting, and execution in a timely and effective manner to maintain ships in a Fleet Readiness Status.

SEA 21 provides wholeness to the fleet by serving as the primary technical interface, ensuring the Fleet remains at optimal mission ready capability. As the Military Systems Engineer you will supports the execution of Advisories procedures in alignment with Naval Instructions and Policies. This position ensures compliance with established governance, configuration, and modernization efforts to deliver operational instructions to the Fleet efficiently and effectively.

You will be able to apply your overall understanding of Engineering Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, ability to provide technical analysis of various naval systems, technical writing, naval message writing, and comprehensive oral technical assessment. Minimal travel is expected. In this role, you will:
* Support the review and draft of Advisories Messages per the NAVSEA Advisory Instructions, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, and the Electronic Advisory Record Repository Tracking System (EARRTS).
* Support the Navy SCD Modernization Process Management and Operations Manual (NMP-MOM) to ensure compliance with established governance, configuration and modernization efforts.
* Ensure Advisory Tracking Records align with Advisory Management Team standards and Navy governance.
* Prepare, update, and review technical directives using a variety of equipment specifications and procedures (PMS, EOSS, Technical Manuals etc.) and reference materials.
* Process advisories using Share-Drive.
* Facilitate milestone tracking and reporting for Fleet advisory executions and SCD modernization adjudication.
* Collaborate with various engineering teams to validate technical requirements and integration plans.
* Coordinate with Type Commanders, Program Offices, and other Naval Technical Authority to ensure timely approvals, execution and consistent application of directives and procedures.
* Prepare briefings and written reports for technical community decision-making. To be successful in the role, you will have:
* An Active DoD Secret security clearance.
* U.S Citizenship Required.
* A Bachelor's Degree (6 years of U.S. Navy DDG 1000 Class shipboard experience in lieu of degree).
* 2+ years of relevant DDG 1000 Class Naval experience.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to senior Navy leadership.
* Strong attention to details, adherence to military standards and specifications mindset.
* Familiar with DDG 1000 Class technical data sources, systems, and commonly used naval environment websites.
* Competency with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Words, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint etc.).
* The ability to travel up to 10%. Additional desired experience and skills:
* Knowledge/experience with ship Navy Maintenance and Modernization and Advisory Message process.
* Proficiency in leveraging written reports to support decision-making processes.
