A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Quality Engineer II, you'll support quality activities across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to ensure products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. You'll conduct supplier audits, lead root cause and corrective action efforts, and manage quality documentation to strengthen compliance and support successful hardware and software deliverables. You'll analyze quality data, monitor supplier performance, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your work ensures quality standards are upheld, risks are mitigated, and teams have the documentation, processes, and support needed to achieve mission-critical program objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Support Cross-Functional Quality Activities: Assist Engineering, Operations, and Program teams with quality-related tasks across multiple projects or product lines.
- Conduct Supplier Audits & Assessments: Perform onsite and remote evaluations to review supplier compliance, capability, and performance.
- Lead RCA & CAPA Efforts: Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures to resolve internal and supplier issues.
- Manage Quality Documentation: Create, maintain, and revise Quality Control Plans, work instructions, inspection procedures, and related documents.
- Interpret Quality Requirements: Review contractual, regulatory, and industry standards to ensure proper implementation throughout the supply chain.
- Monitor Supplier Performance: Track, analyze, and report supplier metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support Internal QMS Audits: Participate in audit planning, execution, and follow-up activities in alignment with AS9100 and internal standards.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements to processes, quality controls, and supplier management.
- Maintain Quality Records: Ensure accurate, organized documentation of audits, inspections, NCRs, CAPAs, and supplier communications.
- Support Compliance Requirements: Assist regulatory, customer, and internal compliance validation activities.
- Provide Guidance to Junior Staff: Offer support, feedback, or mentorship to less experienced team members when needed.
- Quality Engineering: You understand supplier quality, internal quality processes, and how to apply quality tools across hardware and software deliverables.
- Root Cause & Corrective Action: You're skilled at identifying issues, conducting RCA, and implementing effective CAPAs and preventive actions.
- Documentation & Compliance: You're detail-oriented, precise, and committed to maintaining accurate records and ensuring alignment with standards like AS9100.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You work effectively with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to drive quality outcomes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required.
- 3 or more years of cross-functional experience in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, or Program/Product Quality.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or mentor peers on quality-related tasks or initiatives.
- Proven ability to conduct RCA and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ability to integrate quickly into teams and independently lead quality activities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for working with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Positive, proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 per year
