Job Description Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is a trusted provider of mission-enabling solutions for global security. We have a wide portfolio of secure, affordable, integrated, and multi-domain systems and technologies. Our differentiated battle management and Cyber solutions deliver timely, mission-enabling information and provide superior situational awareness and understanding to protect the U.S. and its global allies. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Production Operations based out of our San Diego Rancho Carmel location.
What You'll Get to Do:
* Manage to a line of balance, oversee and/or guide root cause and corrective actions to closure.
* Review status of projects and budgets
* Manage schedules and prepare status reports.
* Be responsible for interfacing with technical leadership, program management, engineering, production control, global supply chain, and production supervisors to ensure hardware modules are built within cost and budget while meeting operation build schedules. What you'll get to do:
* Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management, production, planning, procurement, supply chain, project team, and line management.
* Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
* Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
* Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention and problem solving with Project Managers, Line Managers, Program Management and Clients. We are seeking a Principal Production Operations (level
3) located in San Diego, CA. This position is on-site.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience that includes a background in project management, supply chain, engineering or business; 3 years with MS degree; 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
* Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications to include advanced skills using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong Excel skills to include utilization of Pivot Tables.
* Experience with EVMS processes.
* Experience with MRP Knowledge.
* Experience gathering, manipulating, and processing data.
* Must have the ability to attain and maintain DOD Security clearance.
* US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally.
* Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Experience with SAP, PDM, and/or MES Systems.
* Experience reading engineering documentation, BOM Structures, and PLM tools.
* Experience with operations processes including production, procurement, supplier management, material management and release, planning, quality processes, and work order management.
* Demonstrated Process Improvement skills/abilities.
* SharePoint experience.
* Experience with Tableau.
