We are looking for a senior‑level Resident Engineer with real Caltrans contract administration experience.
Not a title‑only RE, not a design PM transitioning into CM, not private development.
📍 San Diego, CA
Hiring:Resident Engineer – Transportation
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Administered Caltrans or LAPM contracts under the Construction Manual
- Processed Potential Claim Records (Section 5‑1.43)
- Reviewed and approved CPM schedules and TIAs
- Managed Force Account and progress payments (9‑1.04 / 9‑1.16)
- Supervised inspectors and enforced CEM documentation standards
- Enforced QA/QC plans, materials testing, and grade compliance
- Managed DBE, labor compliance, and environmental commitments
RE Services supports Caltrans and local agencies on complex transportation infrastructure throughout Southern California. We are growing intentionally, and we need a technically strong, contract‑savvy leader who can:

- Lead inspectors
- Mitigate claims
- Represent our firm independently
