Under the general direction of the Central Corridors Project Director, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Project Manager is personally responsible for the delivery of assigned projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring project completion in accordance with the approved scope, schedule, and budget.
- Managing the entire project life cycle and collaborating with the Project Development Team to develop scope, cost estimates, schedule, and work plan.
- Forming and leading a multidisciplinary team of Capital Outlay functions for timely delivery.
- Communicating and coordinating with headquarters functions, local, state, and federal agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Escalating major issues to the Corridor Project Director as needed.
- Maintaining a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- Valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- Valid driver’s license to operate a state‑owned or leased vehicle.
- Describe your experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including managing tasks and priorities to meet project scope, schedule, and budget, while fostering collaboration.
- Provide examples of how you communicated technical or complex information clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, to various audiences.
- Describe your knowledge and application of project development and project management processes, standards, policies, and practices in delivering large or complex transportation projects.
- Provide examples of how you analyzed complex or sensitive issues impacting project delivery, evaluated alternatives, balanced competing constraints, and implemented effective solutions.
