A growing medical device manufacturer is seeking a Product Performance Engineer to lead reliability, performance, and lifecycle improvement initiatives across a portfolio of capital equipment systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of hands‑on technical problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and data‑driven continuous improvement. The Product Performance Engineer will own and evolve the device reliability program, driving initiatives that improve system robustness, product quality, and long‑term field performance.
This individual will partner closely with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Field Service teams to analyze performance trends, investigate service events, and implement sustainable engineering solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead reliability and performance improvement initiatives using field service data, return analysis, and system performance trending.
- Develop and maintain processes for tracking and analyzing key reliability metrics, including MTBF, return rates, service trends, and Pareto analysis.
- Conduct hands‑on troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and depot repair support to identify and resolve complex system issues.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Field Service teams to prioritize and execute continuous improvement projects.
- Support product lifecycle management activities, including customer‑specific configurations, product updates, and line extensions.
- Provide design‑for‑reliability and manufacturability input during new product development efforts.
- Establish reporting tools, controls, and dashboards to communicate device performance trends and reliability insights across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for future product enhancements, expanded system capabilities, and improved customer experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, product development, or related engineering environments.
- Experience with reliability engineering, lifecycle management, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
- Hands‑on engineering approach with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation capabilities.
- Experience supporting capital equipment or complex electromechanical systems preferred.
- Ability to translate field performance data into actionable engineering improvements.
Salary $100,000 – $140,000 + 5% bonus and stock
