Position
Mechanical Engineering Technician II
LocationSan Diego, CA
Duration3 Months Contract
Total Hours per Week40.00
Shift1st shift
Description- Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
- Helps scope equipment for use and completes qualifications
- Assists Engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes
- Operates and maintains test equipment
- Uses typical hand tools to build and set‑up equipment using drawings and other documentation
- Uses complex measurement equipment to collect and record data
- Executes designed test protocols and conducts testing
- Works with the team to organize lab functions & test equipment
- Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect the project
- Documents and communicates test results effectively
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma / GED
- A combination of equivalent education and experience or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with more than 2 years relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Experience using test equipment such as an Instron for tensile and compression testing
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of electro‑mechanical devices
- Proficiency with personal computers
- Experience using MS Word, Excel & Power Point
- Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures
- Good organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and effectively execute written and verbal instructions
- BA or BS
- Ability to train lower level technicians and operators
- Experience working in cross‑functional teams
