AI Application Engineer Intern

Job Description

Advantest, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking self‑driven and creative Application Engineers for an internship focused on semiconductor testing. The internship involves working with the Application Engineering team to develop AI toolsets that enhance the process for test solutions on the V93000 ATE platform. This internship will be located in San Diego, CA.

• Develop AI toolsets to improve time to market and code quality in Java.
• Learn to operate test instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, capacitance meters, and digital multimeters.
• Analyze and publish measurement data for other team members, including delivering technical presentations.

• Progress toward an MS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in software development with an emphasis on quality.
• Strong understanding of AI/LLM toolsets for code development and quality.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience with Git/SVN revision control.
• Knowledge of data structures.
• Fundamental Electrical or Computer Engineering knowledge.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
