A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Mechanical Engineer III is responsible for working on all stages of production cycles, from research and design to manufacturing, installation, and evaluation in support of various company products related to spacecraft subsystems. You will be involved in design activities, work closely with both hardware and software engineering teams, and will be involved in multiple projects at a time.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Perform Full Lifecycle Product Development: Design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture, and implement product solutions.
  • Support Engineering Systems Design: Evaluate and interpret requirements to develop effective solutions.
  • Plan and Create Mechanical Designs: Conceptualize and produce innovative mechanical designs for new products.
  • Conduct Experiments and Evaluations: Test and refine product designs to improve performance and innovation.
  • Develop and Review Technical Documentation: Utilize Solid Works CAD tools to create technical drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Design Electronic Module Components: Focus on the design of electronic module mechanical parts and their integration.
  • Perform Thermal and Structural Analysis: Conduct hand calculations and use FEA computational tools for detailed analyses.
  • Provide Production Support: Address production challenges and ensure smooth processes.
  • Interface with Customers: Communicate technical solutions and collaborate on requirements effectively.
  • Estimate Project Budgets and Schedules: Plan and manage resources to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Participate in Program and Technical Reviews: Collaborate in critical reviews to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to optimize designs and processes.
  • Analyze and Resolve Design Non-Conformances: Perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions for complex challenges.
  • Support Development, Testing, and Production Activities: Oversee supplier integration and ensure alignment with program objectives.
YOU'RE AWESOME AT:
  • Aerospace Electronic Packaging: Designing and integrating compact, ruggedized electronic packaging solutions that meet aerospace environmental, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements.
  • Mechanical Design and Analysis: Creating innovative, effective mechanical designs and performing thermal/structural analysis.
  • Solid Works Proficiency: Expertly using Solid Works CAD and Solid Works Simulation for advanced design and analysis tasks.
  • Standards Knowledge: Applying MIL, NASA, and industry design/test specifications effectively.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
    Master's Degree preferred.
  • 7 or more years of engineering experience working in aerospace electronic packaging required.
  • Proficient in Solid Works CAD and Solid Works Simulation for thermal and structural analysis; experience with NASTRAN or ANSYS is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of MIL, NASA, GEVS, and industry design/test specifications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering principles, technical problem-solving, and applying advanced design concepts.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills; effective in both independent and team environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Must have an active U.S. Security Clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $130,000 per year
