Senior Systems Engineer – Surface Radars and Radars Team, Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, located in San Diego, CA.

Security Clearance Requirement

U.S. citizenship required. Prior to start date, a DoD Secret Security Clearance (interim clearance available) must be obtained.

Responsibilities

Develop system requirements, radar software requirements, radar processing algorithms, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
Design and review concepts of operations (CONOPS) for radar systems to support mission needs.
Perform radar processing algorithm development and conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data.
Develop analysis tools to support problem identification, troubleshooting, and system performance evaluation.
Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions that improve system performance and resolve issues.
Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation activities.
Present technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers.
Travel as needed (up to 10%) to support mission execution at RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications – Must Have

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, or systems test.
Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.

Qualifications – Preferred

Design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architecture on DoD systems.
Experience with radar processing algorithms, radar software requirements, and performance analysis, including development of supporting analysis tools.
Signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
Managing requirements using DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools; application of model‑based and digital engineering practices.
Evaluating radar or sensor systems using simulated environments for verification and validation.
Cross‑functional teamwork and interfacing with internal and external customers, including presentation of technical results.
