As an Estimator, you will evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring we know everything required to successfully bid and win projects. You will aggressively follow up with subcontractors to secure bids, collaborate with Project Management teams to track bids and budgets, and close the business. You will review bid requirements for projects that are approximately $500K or less, ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted for.

Critical for success are your ability to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. A strong comfort level with numbers is essential. While this position supports other team members, it has no management responsibilities.

The salary range for this position is $138,000 – $200,000 annually. Pay will be determined based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent 4‑year college or university degree.
• Experience in utility construction estimating.
• At least 5 years of substation estimating experience.
• Valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
