Senior Military Operations Analyst – San Diego, CA, Honolulu, HI, or Norfolk, VA
The Senior Military Operations Analyst will leverage a strong military operations training background to support Department of War (DoW) training and testing long‑range planning and sustainability efforts. Key responsibilities include developing military operations training requirements, range planning, encroachment assessments, and analyzing range instrumentation systems.
Responsibilities- Develop planning, design, and investment documents in accordance with government procedures.
- Establish range capabilities requirements, design alternatives, and data collection & instrumentation requirements based on training objectives.
- Prepare reports and briefs summarizing range support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various range programs and systems.
- Develop and implement range plans, standard operating procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance instructions.
- Maintain liaison with operators and local and regional range managers to develop initiative solutions to training needs and resolve encroachment issues.
- Serve as a technical specialist in preparing NEPA documentation, resource management documents, and state and federal permitting documents.
- Coordinate across multiple clients, resource agencies, and technical staff to prepare military training support documents and related technical studies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in military operations and training.
- Experience leading analytical, technical, or operations projects for DoW clients.
- Experience working with established training objectives and requirements for the U.S. Navy and/or U.S. Marine Corps.
- Demonstrated experience with military operations training requirements development, range planning, and capabilities analysis.
- Experience with encroachment assessment and mitigation, as well as range instrumentation systems and equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, geographic information systems (GIS), and data management tools.
- Master's degree in engineering, management, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of complex military training planning, execution, and readiness assessment methodologies.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, and exceptional customer relations abilities.
- Self‑starter with excellent people skills—capable of working across teams, organizing meetings/boards, and driving change throughout an organization.
- An active Secret clearance is required for this position.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers; may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Projected compensation range is $–$, influenced by experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
