  • Utilize AutoCAD Plant 3D to support legacy model updates, data extraction, and coordination with AVEVA based deliverables when required.
  • Apply applicable drafting standards, line class requirements, and design guidelines to all AVEVA and Plant 3D work products.
  • Develop piping layouts and system configurations for pipelines, MLV stations, valve automation, and pig launcher/receiver facilities.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and model based data from AVEVA and Plant 3D models.
  • Create and update as built drawings based on field markups, survey data, and record documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to resolve model discrepancies, design conflicts, and field issues.
  • Support design reviews, scorecard evaluations, and comment resolution related to AVEVA and Plant 3D deliverables.
  • Perform self checks and participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized design records, models, and project documentation.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and manage time efficiently to meet project schedules.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA, or related design platforms.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience working in the So Cal Gas  AVEVA environment.
  • Familiarity with So Cal Gas  drafting standards, Design Instruction Bulletins (DIBs), and AVEVA‑related workflows.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering, Architectural Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, Design, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of utility design and construction standards applicable to gas transmission and distribution projects.
  • 4–6 years of combined experience in civil drafting, design drawing, and utility‑related design work.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 years of direct drafting and design experience in gas transmission or distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of utility safe‑work practices.
