AECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in San Diego, CA.

The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

Job Summary / Responsibilities
  • Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase.
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Write reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings.
  • Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company’s mission.
  • Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and schedule.
  • Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines.
  • Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects.
  • Develops designs within a BIM design environment.
  • Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field +4years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
  • Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects.
  • 4+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm.
  • Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
  • Desire to be mentored by leadership.
  • Experience with sustainable design.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.
  • Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power.
  • Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI
    32 or Elumtools.
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
