General SummaryQualcomm's GPU Research Team is looking for talented GPU architects to help advance state-of-the-art 3D GPU capabilities in Ray Tracing, Neural Rendering, Geometry Processing, and Machine Learning. Through close collaboration with software team, hardware design team, standardization bodiers, internal and external customers you will help develop and design new GPU architectural features. For this role we expect a strong understanding of the GPU architecture, programming models, and applications.
Familiarity with API's such as Vulkan, D3D, OpenGL, and/or OpenCL is required. Working knowledge of C/C++ is required. Python programming skills is a strong plus.
Responsibilities Include:
- Discover customer requirements for next generation architectural features
- Turn ideas into a complete Feature Development Specification that includes all aspects of the new functionality
- Create simulators to explore and validate functional and performance behaviors
- Help educate internal implementation teams
- Contribute to the standardization efforts
Qualcomm's GPU Research Team is responsible for the development of the worlds most advanced graphics processing unit (GPU). The Adreno GPU is part of Qualcomm's System on a Chip (SOC) platform found in mobile phones, virtual and augmented reality headsets, wearables, laptop computers and more. Our responsibilities include: forward looking architecture, research and design, tools, frameworks, GPU drivers. We work on advancing 3D rendering concepts for gaming, productivity applications, and machine learning.
Beyond traditional graphics, the GPU architecture team works on advancing machine learning, ray tracing, and enhanced developer tools to facilitate debugging, optimizing, and deploying applications for existing and new Qualcomm SOC based devices.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
