- Perform mechanical assembly and integration of rack systems, chassis, test fixtures, and prototype devices.
- Read, interpret, and work from schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Fabricate wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and prototype hardware components.
- Assist in printed wiring board (PWB) layout design and documentation activities.
- Support laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Operate soldering stations, chip rework equipment, SMT equipment, CNC machines, and 3D printers.
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, component, sourcing, and program management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Evaluate materials, manufacturing techniques, and assembly processes for reliability and performance.
- Support multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive development schedules.
- Utilize AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve productivity, troubleshooting efficiency, and workflow optimization.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, technical certification, or pursuit/completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronic and/or mechanical assembly, hardware prototyping, or engineering technician roles.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience using assembly equipment and tools, including soldering irons, crimpers, heat guns, and precision hand tools.
- 1+ years of experience fabricating wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and related hardware.
- Strong soldering, PCB rework, and electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience assembling and disassembling complex electronic devices and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware systems independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Soldering and/or ESD certification.
- Experience with Creo CAD or similar CAD design tools.
- Desktop CNC programming and SMT machine programming experience.
- Knowledge of PCB/PWB design principles, standards, and best practices.
- Experience designing or supporting circuit boards, test fixtures, and cable assemblies.
- Understanding of microprocessors, microcontrollers, sensors, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), USB, video interfaces, and camera systems.
- Experience with industrial automation, factory hardware, industrial networking protocols, functional safety standards, and redundant systems.
- Exposure to RF, analog, mixed-signal, and digital hardware environments.
Desired Attributes:
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
- Comfortable supporting multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
