Additionally, this role requires expertise in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, such as OrCAD Capture/Allegro or Altium Designer for schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between mechanical and electronic design to ensure seamless product integration.
This role supports engineering work that helps identify and define new restoration capabilities for the Navy's C4
ISR Restoration Depot, including designing, evaluating, planning, testing, and operating C4
ISR electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mechanical CAD models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using Solid Works.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD Capture / Allegro or Altium Designer.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
- Support design reviews and troubleshoot design-related issues.
- Maintain documentation and revision control for mechanical and electronic designs.
- Assist in prototyping and testing as needed.
Required Skills/Years of
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related field.
- Certified in Solid Works to develop 3D mechanical CAD drawings and simulations (modeling, diagrams, BOM generation).
- Experience with OrCAD Capture/Allegro or Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design and layout.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic design integration.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Work closely with the Quality team to complete any First Article Inspection Reports or relevant Corrective and Preventive Actions and submit Technical Data Packages to Configuration Management.
