Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineering

Schedule9/80 (employee works 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and has every other Friday off)
Responsibilities- Own all aspects of the mechanical design for products under your control.
- Design, develop, modify and evaluate complicated mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.
- Work closely with Designers and Drafters to maintain Engineering models and detailed drawings.
- Work with Configuration Management to maintain all design documentation.
- Work multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Provide support for existing product designs through the production cycle by incorporating engineering change orders (ECO).
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Electronic packaging experience for space and/or airborne environments.
- CAD proficiency using Solid Works or CREO.
- Understanding of industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices), and their application techniques.
- Experience with random vibration and shock mechanical testing and validation in accordance with MIL-STD-810.
- Experience conducting structural and/or thermal finite element analysis (FEA) using software tools such as Solid Works Simulation, ANSYS, Nastran, Flotherm, etc.
- Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFMA) experience.
- Experience with ECAD-MCAD translation.
- Knowledge of PCB layout and design practices and standards.
- System development considering machine design and theory of mechanisms, thermal design considerations, and materials selection for demanding environments and applications.
- Knowledge of mechanical part fabrication processes.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater
D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $76,500 - $141,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
