Job DescriptionAECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in San Diego, CA.
The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning, strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. Job Summary/Responsibilities:
- Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Write reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings
- Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission
- Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and schedule
- Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
- Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects
- Develops designs within a BIM design environment
- Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field +4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
- Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects
- 4+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
- Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
- Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
- Desire to be mentored by leadership.
- Experience with sustainable design
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.
- Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD
- Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power.
- Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI
32 or Elumtools. - Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.
- Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
