Senior Systems Engineer - Naval Power

Position

Senior Systems Engineer – Surface Radars and Radars team.

San Diego, CA; US-CA-SAN DIEGO-SD1 ~ 8650 Balboa Ave (approximately 1 mile south of the SAN ANTONIO BLDG).

Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret clearance required. U.S. citizenship required.

• Develop system requirements, radar software requirements, radar processing algorithms, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
• Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS) for radar systems in support of mission needs.
• Perform radar processing algorithm development and statistical/numerical analysis of radar performance data.
• Develop analysis tools to support problem identification, troubleshooting, and system performance evaluation.
• Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
• Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to develop/implement solutions that improve system performance.
• Develop and run models to predict system performance and support verification and validation activities.
• Present technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers.
• Travel as needed (up to 10%) to support mission execution at RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
• Work onsite in San Diego, CA.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, or systems test.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.

• Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar systems and software architecture on DoD systems.
• Experience with radar processing algorithms, radar software requirements, and performance analysis, including building supporting analysis tools.
• Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
• Experience developing and managing requirements using DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools; application of model-based and digital engineering practices.
• Experience evaluating radar or sensor systems using simulations to support verification & validation.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, interfacing with internal and external customers, and presenting technical results.

• Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
