Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering has a contingent opening for a Lead Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI), supporting services for the Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The Lead Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) serves as Team Lead for one of three Gas Turbine (CG/DDG) visit teams and as the program's senior inspection specialist for LM-2500 gas turbine propulsion systems and associated control and auxiliary systems.

This position combines supervisory leadership over a multi-discipline team with the technical depth to identify, analyze, and document gas turbine deficiencies at the inspector level. The Lead MGTI is the team's highest-credibility technical asset aboard the ship and the primary SME for LM-2500 alarm management, EOSS compliance, gas turbine hot section assessment, and control system fault isolation across DDG-51, DDG-1000, CG-47, LCS-2, and LHA/LHD hull types where LM-2500 or MT30 variants are installed.

This contract has a contingent start of September 2026.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship required
• Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance required (Security clearance eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
• Ability to maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Lead a multi-discipline Gas Turbine (CG/DDG) visit team through all phases of RATT visit execution: pre-visit preparation, deckplate training, material condition assessment, Automated Work Request (AWR) generation, and CO Visit Report production.
• Serve as the senior SME for LM-2500 / MT30 gas turbine inspection, fault isolation, and EOSS compliance assessment.
• Compile the Pre-Visit Intelligence Package for each assigned hull; identify three to five focus areas for the visit based on CSMP data, prior visit reports, and Fleet Priority Issues.
• Conduct and supervise deckplate training at the watch stander, Division Officer/CPO, and CHENG levels per PWS Tasks 4.12 through 4.20.
• Administer and score Level 2 pre/post knowledge assessments for LM-2500 alarm management and EOSS training evolutions; complete Level 3 behavioral observation forms 48–72 hours post-training.
• Generate maintenance-ready AWRs for all Category I and II material discrepancies not corrected during the visit per PWS Task 4.2; review all SME-generated AWRs before submission.
• Conduct the mid-visit review at Day 2–3 for all visits of five or more days.
• Complete all post-trip deliverables within five working days of trip completion:
  Final Visit Report, Training Summary Report and Roster, CO Visit Report, Prioritized Material Deficiency Report, and CSMP Deficiency Report.
• Submit team inputs to the PM for the monthly Class Issues Assessment Report and Fleet Priority Issues report.
• Participate in annual STANCO; lead LM-2500 curriculum review agenda items.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Minimum fifteen (15) years of supervisory experience in analyses, MGTI operations
• Minimum fifteen (15) years of supervisory-level watch standing experience on warships or military auxiliaries with gas turbine main propulsion as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated control and auxiliary systems.
• Extensive Navy technical management experience on multiple ships.
• Extensive experience as EOOW on multiple gas turbine ships.
• Minimum two (2) tours as a Navy Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) with Navy surface ship maintenance processes.
• Extensive experience conducting marine gas turbine inspections on surface warships or military auxiliaries with qualifications and certification as or equivalent to a Navy MGTI.
• Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five (5) years with gas turbine main propulsion, gas turbine generators, associated control systems, and associated auxiliaries currently in use by the Navy.
• Undergraduate or associate's degree, or extensive demonstrated experience in a management role.

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• Twenty-five (25) or more years of MGTI-qualified inspection experience.
• Experience on three or more gas turbine hull types (e.g., DDG-51 Flights I, II, and IIA; CG-47; LCS-2; LHA-6 or LHD-1 hybrid propulsion).
• Familiarity with Client LM-2500+G4 and MT30 variant differences and applicable technical documentation.
• Prior RATT, ERAT, or TYCOM-directed fleet engagement experience.
• Formal instructor or curriculum development background.

Physical Demands and Expectations:

• Ability to work in an industrial shipboard/shipyard environment, climb shipboard ladders and wear all required safety equipment.
• Able to lift (up to 50lb), carry, and transport heavy equipment and materials required. Able to meet U.S. Navy shiprider requirements
