Job Description
Our client is a leading HVAC contractor specializing in the design and installation of complex HVAC systems for commercial buildings. They are dedicated to delivering top-tier service with a focus on quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Currently, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to the sales team throughout the preconstruction and pre-sales process.
- Conduct job walks and develop scope for design-build projects.
- Prepare detailed project estimates, including material takeoffs, labor hours, and project schedules.
- Write proposals, create budgets, and perform value analysis for HVAC retrofit and construction projects.
- Review construction documents, prepare sketches, and ensure accuracy in final estimate packages before submission.
- Manage communication between account managers, end users, engineering teams, and vendors to gather essential project information.
- Submit written proposals, scopes of work, project schedules, and cost estimates that comply with Title 24 and regulatory agencies.
- Perform constructability reviews and ensure code compliance, particularly with the California Mechanical Code.
- Compile and communicate detailed lists of qualifications, clarifications, and exclusions in project proposals.
- Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers and assist with pricing change orders.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions of proposals and estimates.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in HVAC design and building construction.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical retrofitting for commercial buildings, including hospitals, data centers, K-14 schools, and universities.
- Experience with energy projects involving DDC, engineering, commissioning, M&V, and energy analysis.
- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the mechanical retrofit of commercial buildings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and team-oriented approach.
