Civil Design Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Civil Design Engineer with experience in solid waste, landfill, or land development projects. This role requires strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and hands-on experience supporting civil site design efforts. You will play a key role in project design, client coordination, and construction support across landfill and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed site designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Support and manage civil site design projects, including landfill expansions, closures, and related infrastructure
• Perform technical calculations such as grading, cut/fill analysis, stormwater management, and waste sizing
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams on permitting, project requirements, and approvals
• Assist with project scheduling, resource planning, and overall project execution
• Provide construction-phase support and participate in site visits as needed

Day-to-Day:

• Own assigned design tasks and deliver solutions based on client needs
• Work closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to ensure project success
• Travel to project sites (~10%) including locations like San Diego and Long Beach
• Support field activities during construction when required

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (able to create designs independently)
• 1–3+ years of experience in civil site design, land development, or solid waste/landfill projects
• Understanding of permitting processes and regulatory requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working on landfill gas systems, landfill expansions, or closures
