Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually.
Tired of estimating drywall and doors? Want to work on projects you can be proud of?
Basile Studio is a full-service design/build firm known for bold, detail-heavy work in restaurants, hotels, and retail spaces. We build custom furniture, metalwork, millwork, lighting — and we need an estimator who understands how it all comes together.
You’ll work in-office (not on jobsites) with our design and shop teams to create clean, accurate estimates for high‑end, custom fabrication projects. If you know your way around shop drawings, tools, and takeoffs, this could be your next great move.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze project specification and utilize assembly operations to estimate material, labor, and overhead cost for fabrication of all components and overall build.
- Collaborate with all departments to understand project requirements and deadlines, keeping estimates within the client budget.
- Study previous projects data and define and document improved processes for estimation.
- Document timing for high‑level and detailed estimates.
- Build and maintain a cost database that allows for quicker estimating.
- Work with the engineering team to develop new and more efficient processes.
- Establish standards for Engineering and Fabrication departments that reduce hours and consolidate materials for as many processes as possible.
- Work with the Project Engineer and client to reduce costs at the early/design stage and with engineers at the design pay‑off to remove waste and augment build procedures.
- Identify out‑of‑budget items and communicate internally for process fixes to bring items back into budget.
- Identify and resolve roadblocks and delays in a timely manner and communicate accordingly.
- 5+ years of experience in building construction and fabrication (both metal and wood).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/shop drawings.
- Experience with budgeting.
- Understanding of fabrication equipment, processes, and materials.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Strong organization and process skills.
- Data analysis and critical thinking.
- Detail‑oriented – you love to find issues before they become issues.
- Effective communication – you bring people together to solve a problem.
- Technical skills – you prefer spreadsheets to notepads.
- Time management – for yourself and the projects.
