Talascend is currently seeking a Supplier Procurement Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
OverviewThe Supplier Procurement Engineer is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating procurement activities related to heavy industrial components and equipment. This role involves project management, technical oversight, and collaboration with various internal teams to ensure procurement efficiency and contract compliance.
Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate procurement of heavy industrial components and equipment for the Natrium project.
- Manage budget and schedule, ensuring timely procurement awards and cost evaluations.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, contracts, and legal teams to align procurement activities with project goals.
- Review EPC specifications, bid packages, and assessments to protect the company's interests.
- Support the development of contract documents relevant to EPC suppliers' scope of work.
- Ensure delivery of materials, data, and deliverables on time by working with contract administrators.
- Support technical interfaces between procurement and engineering teams.
- Manage technical deliverable submittals and monitor EPC’s technical capabilities and organizational changes.
- Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering preferred.
- 10-20 years of experience in supplier oversight required.
- PMP certification or equivalent training preferred.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight in fabrication or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, and quality programs in manufacturing environments.
- Experience defining scope of work, developing SOWs, RFPs, and overseeing supplier projects.
- Skills in managing heavy industrial suppliers in design and manufacturing environments.
- Experience with contractual and commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
- Experience supporting technical interfaces with engineering teams.
- Proficiency with project controls, organizational tools, and processes.
- Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering disciplines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, trustworthiness, and team-oriented mindset.
