Overview
BASILE Studio is seeking a creative and committed Mechanical Engineer/Drafter to design custom details, manage projects, and collaborate across departments in a fast‑paced environment. The role requires strong problem‑solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to deliver high‑quality products on schedule.
Responsibilities- Lead a project from concept through final installation, managing all phases of development.
- Convert Sketch Up/AutoCAD designs into manufacturing blueprints using Solid Works.
- Calculate static and dynamic loads and create 3‑D models, shop drawings, BOMs, and CNC cut files.
- Estimate material needs early in design to track anticipated spending.
- Coordinate with designers, structural engineers, fabricators, purchasing, and outside vendors.
- Define and calculate project requirements, source materials, components, and hardware; outline fabrication methods and installation plans.
- Design jigs and templates to aid fabrication.
- Redline shop drawings, troubleshoot fabrication/installation issues, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Produce parametric shop drawings of large assemblies, including part creation to installation steps.
- Generate bend deductions, flat patterns for sheet metal, weldment tables, detail views, and wiring diagrams.
- Create CNC cut files, material nesting, and BOM entry into the custom ERP system.
- Collaborate closely with fabrication and engineering teams to understand project requirements.
- Maintain strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes and standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years of mechanical design experience in a professional setting (Solid Works).
- 0–2 years of experience for the Junior Mechanical Engineer/Drafter role (if applicable).
- Sheet metal and weldment design experience preferred.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods, processes, and materials.
- Basic electrical design, controls, and programming knowledge.
- Familiarity with building codes and ability to read architectural drawings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and learn new technologies.
- Self‑starter, quick learner, and ability to complete tasks with minimal direction.
- Collaborative, works well in a small team, and embraces a fast‑moving, adaptive culture.
- Proficiency in Solid Works and Sketch Up, AutoCAD (required).
- Proficiency in Revit, V‑Carve (nesting software), and an ERP system (preferred).
- Experience with Revit, Sketch Up, and AutoCAD is a plus.

Senior Mechanical Engineer: $70,000–$95,000 annually. Junior Mechanical Engineer/Drafter: $55,000–$65,000 annually. Salary based on experience.
