Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Manufacturing Engineer role at ASML designs, develops, implements, and sustains methods, operational sequences, and processes in the manufacture, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting of critical consumable components. This role is responsible for factory metrics such as yield, cycle time, and capacity. It designs process and manufacturing tooling solutions to influence factory metrics, designs and executes test plans to qualify changes in the manufacturing process, interfaces with design engineering to coordinate release of new products, maintains records and reporting systems, and may review proposals from outside vendors regarding purchase or modernization of production equipment.
The role also works in cross‑functional teams to deliver industrialized production processes.
- Designing, developing, and installing custom LabVIEW based applications & systems incorporating a wide variety of technologies (DAQ, machine vision, motion & real‑time control, etc.) to support customized manufacturing tooling.
- The job will involve supporting a complex home‑grown application that assists people working on the manufacturing shop floor.
- Able to successfully perform hardware and software troubleshooting efforts, upgrade Lab View software, and support calibration efforts.
- Develop visualization dashboards to update integration, qualification status.
- Using Agile methodology to develop the software using Python, Matlab, or LabVIEW.
- Creating designs and implementing code that are modular, scalable, robust and meet quality requirements.
- Integrate and create software release candidates.
- Qualify software on virtual, simulated environments.
- Execute the defined system level test set.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues arising during testing, and raise defects.
- Creates test result documents as required to support internal and external program reviews.
- Ensures successful completion of system‑level testing, reliability testing, and any activity required to support a quality software release.
- Assign verdict to reliability issues.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Designs and executes qualification tests for manufacturing process or equipment changes.
- Applies statistical methods to analyze in‑line and end‑user quality data.
- Evaluates and analyzes data acquired during test using programs such as MS Excel, MS Access, JMP, Minitab and Lab View. Makes recommendations for process or design modifications based on analysis.
- Builds and maintains databases.
- Investigates and reports root cause of problems, follows up with corrective actions.
- Coordinates Special Build activities between Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Leads and/or participates as a member of cross‑functional teams.
- Participates in daily factory meeting and drives for resolutions of big hitter problems.
- Implements containment and corrective actions.
- Creates data collection schemes.
- Facilitates completion of prototype and pilot production units to meet schedule requirements.
- Delivers technical support to contribute to rapid solutions of complex technical issues.
- Prevents disturbances from re‑occurring by feeding issue resolution in cooperation with Manufacturing Engineering and Design & Engineering.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects.
