We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our San Diego, CA facility. This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope. They primarily contact the immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
- Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
- Provides completion of technical tasks.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
- Works with team on general lab functions, including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
- Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect the project.
- Helps develop prototype processes and test set‑ups.
- Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing.
- Effectively documents and communicates test results.
- Supports hardware debugging.
Minimum Requirement:
High school diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment, following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
- Effective teamwork in a cross‑functional group and strong communication with the lab team and extended team members.
- Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
- Proficiency with personal computers.
- Ability to train lower‑level technicians.
