Senior/Staff Ultrasound System Engineer – Medical Device (San Diego, CA)
We are seeking an Ultrasound System Engineer to engage in the design and development of our next generation Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) products that are helping to save lives around the world.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate, and validate ultrasound imaging systems and subsystems.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and clinical engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and evaluate system architectures, signal processing performance, and overall system functionality.
- Perform system‑level testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Help translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in engineering, focusing on developing complex systems.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, integration, and testing; experience developing medical devices across the full product lifecycle.
- Bonus: experience with ultrasound imaging systems or ultrasound‑based medical devices.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to work cross‑functionally and contribute to high‑quality, compliant product development in regulated environments.

Work Location and EnvironmentThis is an onsite role. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Full‑time presence in the company’s facilities is required.
The candidate must reside in or within commuting distance to San Diego, CA.
Benefits- Pay range (CA): $114,000 – $182,000.
- Other compensation options may include annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long‑term incentives.
- Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits program: paid time off, 401(k) with up to 7% match, HSA with company contribution, stock purchase plan, education reimbursement.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
