Position: Engineer 1

Responsibilities

  • Understand, review, and sort electrical, structural, and civil engineering documentation
  • Coordinate design between electrical, structural, civil, HV, and SCADA teams
  • Review, QC, and comment on engineering deliverables under guidance and supervision
  • Coordinate owner, owner’s engineer, and independent engineer submittals
  • Manage project data rooms, including uploading, downloading, and maintaining organized file structures
  • Track and consolidate responses to comments and permitting questions
  • Collect, organize, and communicate internal and external (Owner, AHJ etc.) comments to engineering partners
  • Support permitting process
  • Research requirements and preparing submittal packages
  • Coordinate with SOLV Energy accounting to ensure timely payment of permitting and plan-check fees
  • Schedule and organize meetings with internal teams and external engineering partners. Document meeting discussions and prepare meeting minutes
  • Maintain and track engineering schedules to support project delivery
  • Maintain project trackers and monitor status updates
  • Develop and maintain project to-do lists for new and active projects
  • Support engineering and procurement teams with documentation and administrative needs
  • Maintain and enforce digital document organization on internal networks and client platforms
  • Coordinate engineering documentation within AutoCAD
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support engineering deliverables, including working with georeferenced drawings, coordinate systems, and creating KMZ files for field use and stakeholder review
  • Support civil and structural engineering efforts using SOLV proprietary software, including generating and reviewing pile takeoffs to assist with design coordination and procurement planning
  • Create, manage, and maintain project files in SOLV proprietary software to support engineering workflows, constructability reviews, and document consistency across project phases
  • Call in dig alerts as required for field activities
  • Digitize handwritten field notes and organize field documentation
  • Prepare basic reports using standard templates (e.g., pile testing reports)
  • Support engineering and procurement staff with coordination and documentation
  • Assist with PowerPoint presentations for internal and external meetings
  • Perform additional administrative and project support tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Engineering, or related discipline) from an accredited institution
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in EPC, construction, renewable energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of EPC engineering workflows, including design deliverables, submittals, document control, and coordination with engineering partners
  • Experience supporting solar, BESS, power, or civil/site projects, including exposure to pre-construction and execution phases preferred
  • Ability to read, interpret, and organize engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating with project stakeholders, including tracking and responding to comments preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with ability to maintain trackers, logs, schedules, and reports
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and priorities across concurrent projects in a fast‑paced EPC environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to project sites or partner offices and work in active construction environments, with reasonable accommodation
