Join our growing team as a Senior Transportation/Traffic Engineering Planner. We're seeking a talented professional with 5-7 years of California transportation and traffic engineering experience who can bring innovative thinking, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of local and state transportation challenges to help deliver transformative infrastructure and mobility projects.
This role can be remote, but must have 2-7 years of direct California Transporation/Traffic planning experience. Ideally, we would like this role to work out of our San Diego office.
ResponsibilitiesNV5 is seeking a full-time Senior
Transportation/Traffic Engineering Planner for our San Diego, CA office. This role can be remote; however, you must be able to travel throughout California for meetings and site visits. The Transportation/Traffic Planner will provide project assistance on a variety of transportation planning and traffic projects. The most frequent and essential work activities include:
- Complete transportation planning and traffic design studies with limited supervision.
- Drive business development efforts with existing and prospective clients by building trusted relationships, identifying new opportunities, and fostering long-term partnerships that contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm.
- Assist with mentoring and training other staff.
- Perform QA/QC review on assigned projects.
- Prepare project scopes and proposal material. Assist with public involvement activities including the preparation of newsletters, presentations, and other public meeting materials.
- Complete research and data collection, including field surveys.
- Maintain effective and successful communication with team, co-workers, and clients.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.
- Represent NV5 at professional functions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or advanced degree in City or Urban Planning
- Minimum of 7 years of directly related professional work experience; experience in California is a must
- Licensed TE or PE in California
- Experience with Synchro, Vissim, Simtraffic, VMT, TDM
- Excellent writing and business development skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Possess a valid driver's license
