Summary:
The Field Service Scientist will be responsible for performing on-site delivery, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SOC-manufactured instrumentation. This position will ensure the highest quality of service and customer satisfaction by understanding the construction and full functionality of the reflectometer line of instruments, as well as other SOC products. The role also involves customer training, technical support, and contributing to continuous product improvement.
- Performing on-site installation, maintenance, and repairs of instruments at customer locations.
- Providing customer training on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices both on-site and at the SOC factory.
- Responding to customer inquiries and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Assisting sales personnel with technical support and conducting on-site demonstrations as required.
- Developing and maintaining documentation, including service manuals and training materials.
- Implementing and contributing to quality control procedures for improved product performance for manufacturing, repairs, and measurement services.
- Identifying potential product innovations and novel applications for SOC instrumentation, and communicating these to the product development team.
- Participating in all required SOC safety, security, HR, and project-related meetings.
This role requires frequent travel, approximately 50%, including domestic and international locations.
Requirements- Education/
Experience:
Master’s degree in physics, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field, with 2-3 years of industry experience or Bachelor’s degree in above discipline(s) with 3-5 years prior industry experience. Engineering skills and accreditation desirable.
$77,000+ per year, depending on education and experience
