Job Description
A large industrial manufacturing company in San Diego, is seeking a NPI/CAD Business Analyst to join their team. The ideal resource who would be expected to know, or learn as needed, about 'new product introduction' (NPI) engineering or conceptual design processes/products/people AND about related PLM and CAD tools. This is to partner with our NPI business groups to solve problems and make improvements.
These tools primarily include Siemens NX and/or PTC Creo Parametric using PTC Windchill for PLM.
This role typically does not include day-to-day production support (but often will), but rather deals with relationships, communications, data, methods/processes, conventions (promoting commonality!), improvements, etc.
Requires an ability to troubleshoot tough issues, write a clear problem statement or user story, understand and write requirements, and create optimal conceptual/solution designs which (as needed) can be used by developers in technical design & coding.
Also requires significant project management, data management, and CAD/PLM software user skills. Computer science or deep technical knowledge is useful but not required. Objective should always be solving problems and creating solutions with an enterprise mindset, while avoiding/minimizing/reducing complexity and/or customizations.

- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field AND 4+ years experience, OR 6+ years work experience using MCAD with a PLM or SPDM system.
- Experience in a NPI engineering organization or familiarity of turbo machinery products.
- Experience using PLM/CAD software (Siemens NX, PTC Windchill, or Creo Parametric preferred)
- Experience gathering, defining, and documenting user requirements to create conceptual solution designs - A strong background or interest in computer science
- 3D printing or additive manufacturing Model-Based Definition, SPDM platforms, HPC environments, or PLM/CAD AI tools is a plus.
