Boarhog is accepting applications for a mid-level network engineer to design U.S. Navy networks for the U.S. Navy's Tactical Afloat Networks Program Office (PMW-160) in a hybrid work environment in San Diego, CA. Specifics tasks include:
Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements, development of network templates and IP plans, development of test plans and documentation. Configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions.
Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency.
EDUCATIONBachelors of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science required.
CLEARANCESecret minimum, TS/SCI desired. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT HOLD A DoD SECRET CLEARANCE. NO EXECPTIONS.
Required Position-specific Qualifications- Three plus (3+) years of experience developing technical documentation
- Proven track record of performance in client facing roles that require engagement and relationship building with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies
- Experience with SDN/ SD-WAN Technologies and vendors including VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions
- Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc)
- Experience developing and documenting network topologies
- Experience in troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages
- Experience in virtualization technologies
- CCNP (or equivalent) certification
- Experience with RF communications, specifically MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM technologies.
- Experience leveraging Net Dev Ops or Dev Sec Ops to scale enterprise level engineering projects.
- Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF
- Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML, or Jinja
- Experience developing and maturing complex, collaborative networking projects and working autonomously to move network development forward
