JOB SUMMARY
A specialized consulting and contracting firm focused on energy efficiency and infrastructure improvements for data centers is seeking a Project Developer / Energy Engineer. This role is responsible for overseeing project development from initial assessment to contract finalization, ensuring energy conservation, reliability, and capacity solutions are effectively implemented.

Travel expectations:
Approximately 20-30%, with a focus on projects in Ashburn, VA, and other locations across the U.S. and Canada. Travel is required on an as-needed basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Development:

  • Identify and assess client needs, ensuring alignment throughout project scope development.

  • Develop project scope, budget, and schedule, maintaining adherence to established milestones and processes.

  • Evaluate project risks, including cost implications, energy savings projections, and compliance considerations.

Energy Engineering:

  • Analyze baseline energy usage to determine efficiency improvement opportunities.

  • Establish performance targets and assess optimization strategies.

  • Conduct savings analysis, verifying energy and sustainability outcomes post-implementation.

Rebate Management:

  • Conduct evaluations of available incentives, assessing cost-benefit implications.

  • Manage rebate applications and ensure compliance with program requirements.

  • Oversee measurement and verification efforts for program adherence and financial tracking.

Project Representation:

  • Provide strategic oversight and advocacy for energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Ensure consistent application of industry best practices and standards across projects.

  • Monitor project execution, addressing risks and compliance requirements.

  • Support planning efforts to drive continuous improvement in energy performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure.

  • Experience with relevant control systems and energy engineering principles.

  • 10+ years of industry experience.

  • Background in project development and execution.
