Technical Writer – Manufacturing Documentation
Pride Global is supporting a leading medical device manufacturing organization that has a contract opening for a Technical Writer – Manufacturing Documentation in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create, develop, edit, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process instructions, equipment documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Draft and release Manufacturing Process Instructions to support production and manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and release Equipment Documentation Packets, including User Requirements Specifications (URS), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) documentation.
- Capture experimental designs, engineering activities, and validation results into clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, production teams, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Research, organize, and translate complex engineering concepts into user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create and process Change Orders to release documentation through the company's document control and quality management system.
- Document manufacturing equipment, engineering processes, production procedures, and technical specifications in accordance with company standards.
- Recommend documentation formats and improvements that support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company quality systems, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Associate's degree with significant relevant technical writing experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing:
Manufacturing Work Instructions, Process Instructions, Equipment Documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), IQ/OQ/PQ Documentation. - Experience documenting manufacturing equipment, production processes, and engineering procedures.
- Strong ability to capture experimental design, validation activities, and engineering results in technical documentation.
Important Details:
- Employment Type:
06 months Contract (Possible extension on the basis of performance) - Shift: 8am to 5pm, Mon to Fri
- Location:
San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite) - Approved Pay Range: $40 - $44/hr on W2
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
